Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Device Driver

Experience : 5 - 10 Years

Location : Bangalore

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Device Driver with strong experience in Linux device driver development and embedded SoC platforms. The candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, and debugging low-level software, device drivers, BSPs, and hardware/software interfaces.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, integrate, and debug Linux device drivers for embedded SoC platforms.

- Develop and maintain drivers for I2C, SPI, eMMC, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Display, Camera, and Multimedia interfaces.

- Analyze and resolve Linux Kernel, device driver, hardware, and system-level issues.

- Support BSP development, board bring-up, and platform integration activities.

- Work with U-Boot, bootloaders, Linux Kernel, and system boot flows.

- Read and analyze board schematics and hardware specifications for software development and debugging.

- Debug complex hardware/software issues using JTAG, logic analyzers, signal analyzers, and other debugging tools.

- Develop and debug embedded software on ARM and/or RISC-V architectures.

- Perform code reviews, software optimization, technical documentation, and quality improvement activities.

- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, BSP, and system engineering teams for platform-level development and issue resolution.

- Contribute to Linux Kernel upstreaming and open-source development wherever applicable.

Required Skills :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in Embedded Software / Linux Device Driver Development.

- Strong hands-on experience with Linux Kernel and device drivers.

- Experience with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, eMMC, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Display, Camera, or Multimedia.

- Good understanding of BSP development and board bring-up.

- Hands-on experience with U-Boot and bootloaders.

- Experience working with ARM and/or RISC-V-based platforms.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills at the hardware/software interface level.

- Ability to understand board schematics and hardware specifications.

- Experience using JTAG, logic analyzers, signal analyzers, and related debugging tools.

- Knowledge of Linux Kernel upstreaming and open-source development is an added advantage.
