Job Description Summary:

Key Focus Areas and Responsibilities:

This role is a pivotal part of the Japan & South Japan OU Technical Operations & Commercialization Team and is responsible for managing and executing products and packaging for the Korea market.

Innovation is a key pillar in driving Coca-Cola Korea ’s strategy for sustainable system growth. The Technical Operations & Commercialization function spearheads innovation projects (including both product and package) end to end from concept to market execution with close collaboration with various stakeholders including corporate functions, GDI, CPS, Procurement, Technical, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Finance, Suppliers, Bottler Supply Chain, and Bottler Commercial teams to set the specifications, validate and apply governance with a system mindset.

Expectation to represent the company and the Coca-Cola Korea System as Technical SME and influence the external industry councils and/or consortiums.

What You’ll Do for Us

Leadership

  • Point of contact representing TISC for assigned project.

  • Lead and facilitate related technical commercialization communities and meetings.

  • Entire project management for assigned projects for product and package end to end from concept to market execution with business context. Develop timeline and track the progress.

  • Apply enterprise mindset and define and guide the best directions as Coca-Cola System.

  • Represent the company and Korea KO System as Technical SME and influence industry councils and consortiums.

Commercialization

  • Lead Product and process and/or package validations including line trials. Prepare samples upon requests. Overseeing the end-to-end technical commercialization process for new products, packages and line extensions

  • Identify and execute value creation projects that reduce cost without compromising quality or safety

  • Package and process optimization and problem solving. Propose optimization ideas, find solutions and carry out corrective actions.

  • Establish and regularly update robust Business Continuity plans to address risks associated with raw material shortages, regulatory changes, and supply chain disruptions affecting packaging materials and agricultural ingredients.

  • Find solutions and implement new technologies, Trouble shooting

  • Study line investment for new innovations and productivity initiatives

  • Align specification and ensure the quality and governance of new products and package.

  • Develop and issue MMI (Master Mixing Instructions) for products.

  • Develop and align specifications for package. Evaluate package quality on site test-packs, set specs and give approvals. Data collection and provide governance.

  • Provide recommendations for launch timings

  • Assist with enhancing Japan S&IO within OU SCT and CPS(Korea Only)

Governance

  • Responsible for PAR submission and issue for formula

  • Responsible for PICASSO authorization for package

  • Responsible for Package Design description and ensure governance

  • Monitoring and quarterly reporting on productivity and recycling related measures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: 10+ years in Technical Operations, Commercialization, or Supply Chain Management within the FMCG or beverage industry.

  • Education: Advanced degree in Engineering (Materials Science, Chemical, or Industrial), Food Science, or a related technical field.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects effectively. Proficiency in using common project management tools such as Wo and Workfront, PICASSO.

  • Product Development: of the product development process, including development timelines and beverage functions

  • Supply Chain: Knowledge of package, ingredient and concentrate/BB supply issues, value chain, and financial modeling of COGS, sourcing, beverage base manufacturing, and supply.

  • Regulatory Affairs: Familiarity with Japan Food Law and regulatory issues related to packaging and equipment, including local food laws, ingredient regulations, and labeling requirements.

  • Bottling Processes: Developed knowledge of various filling processes (sparkling, post-mix, pasteurization, retort, preserved cold fill, aseptic) and their implications (equipment investment, quality issues).

  • Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality implications of different product/package/process combinations, including line validation and processing requirements, in-market issues (shelf life, product stability, handling requirements).

  • Packaging: Understanding of available packaging technologies and related product and process implications, packaging development processes, and their impacts on the commercialization process.

  • Basic IT skills (Advanced knowledge preferred).

  • Communication skills.

  • Demonstrated growth behaviors. Set the agenda, be a role model, and apply enterprise mindset.
