Job Summary
The Data Solution Engineer Internship provides opportunities to get hands-on experience working with insurance professionals, leveraging data engineering skills. In this position you will gain real life experience with some of the latest technologies to deliver solution-based data assets to our Actuarial and Product Management departments. Examples of this work would include pricing/rate making data sets for our predictive modeling capabilities, rate indication assets for our Actuarial team or portfolio management data sets for our Actuarial and Product management teams.
Work Location
This position is an in-office role located in West Bend, WI or Madison, WI. No remote opportunities for this position are available at this time.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
As a DSE Intern you will:
- Solve real business problems by working with a group of Data Solution Engineers.
- Receive training and establish a proficiency in the following technologies: Snowflake, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, SAS, SQL Server, Python and/or Microsoft PowerBI
- Pair with a mentor to learn and establish habits that are key to growing into a successful Data Solution Engineer
- Give back to the community by participating in a community service project
Preferred Skills Include:
- Experience working with some type of coding language
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Desire to learn, explore and discover
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
Students enrolled in a Computer Science, Engineering or IT related program who have strong written and verbal communication skills and love solving problems should consider joining our team!
