The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing procurement activities within a defined function or project segment. This role requires deep expertise in procurement processes, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders to achieve optimal sourcing outcomes. The incumbent ensures alignment between procurement activities and broader organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities for assigned categories, projects, or business units.
  • Ensure procurement strategies align with organizational goals and operational requirements.
  • Drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and value creation across procurement initiatives.

Stakeholder Management & Influence

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities.
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and negotiation skills.
  • Resolve conflicts and guide stakeholders toward optimal procurement outcomes.

Problem Solving & Analysis

  • Address complex, multi-variable procurement challenges affecting multiple stakeholders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Prioritize competing demands while balancing cost, quality, risk, and timelines.

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead negotiations and contract management to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions when necessary.

Process Integration & Improvement

  • Understand how procurement activities interlink with broader business processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and adherence to procurement policies and standards.

Team Coordination & Guidance

  • Provide informal leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members or small workgroups.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to deliver procurement objectives efficiently.
  • Support capability building within the procurement function.

Decision-Making & Accountability

  • Accountable for the full outcomes of a procurement function, category, or project segment.
  • Makes decisions that impact cost, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Exercises judgment in complex situations with multiple variables and stakeholder considerations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Project management or a related field
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably with data center experience
  • Track record of managing complex procurement initiatives and stakeholder environments
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution expertise
  • Ability to manage complexity and prioritize effectively
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes and commercial principles
