Shift Production Leader

As a senior member of the Bellville management team this position drives business performance
through effective leadership of a shift production crew to deliver on targeted business results for: Health
and Safety, Environment, Risk Management, Quality, Cost, Production and People.
To coordinates the operational activities on PM4, and Celli winder on shift to achieve desired
performance results.
To be an effective member of the shift management group and work to improve overall performance
through active involvement with other Shift Process Controllers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide visible Leadership and drive to the shift operating crews, ensuring correct prioritization of effort and resources.
• Lead and motivate the shift crew to adopt a continuous improvement operational style.
• Ensure employee development and performance gaps are identified, discussed and corrected to improve overall shift production crew capability.
• Manage the business in accordance with the daily production and maintenance plans and maximize opportunities for maximizing key Mill performance indicators
• Ensure business processes are operated within SOPs and standardized across shifts.
• Manage Health, Safety and Risk reflect the zero harm business goal by ensuring hazards are identified and eliminated through strict adherence to procedures, timely audits, and thorough investigation of incidents and taking corrective and preventive actions.
• Through an active and visible management and coaching style, establish and maintain appropriate standards for the performance and behavior of team members.
• Act in the capacity of Mill management when required, to actively make decisions and solve problems in conjunction with key stakeholders.
• Accountable for the overall management of all daily operations

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric with Maths and Science
• Diploma/ Degree in Chemical engineering or
• Diploma/Degree in Pulp and Paper Technology

WORKING EXPERIENCE

• Three (3) years’ work experience in a paper manufacturing environment.
• Previous management experience in similar production environment favourable.
