Job Description

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

• Developmodern,responsiveuserexperiencesusingReact,TypeScript,JavaScript,HTML5,andCSS3.
• BuildandmaintainbackendservicesusingJava,SpringBoot,Kafka,andcontainerizedarchitectures.
• PartnerwithProduct,UX,Architecture,andEngineeringteams totranslatebusinessrequirementsintotechnicalsolutions.
• Driveengineeringexcellencethrougharchitecturereviews,codequalitystandards,automatedtesting,CI/CD,andDevOpsbestpractices.
• Mentorsoftwareengineers,providetechnicalleadership,andinfluencearchitecturaldecisionsacrossdeliveryteams.
• Evaluateandimplementemergingtechnologiesincluding GenerativeAI,LargeLanguageModels(LLMs),RAG,AgenticAI,andenterpriseAIplatforms.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

- Six to eight years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

• ExpertiseinDistributedSystems,MicroservicesArchitecture,RESTfulAPIs,andService-OrientedArchitecture(SOA) withexperiencebuildingscalable,high-throughputapplications.
• Strongproficiencyin Java,SpringBoot,React.js,TypeScript,JavaScript(ES6+),HTML5,andCSS3.
• Experiencedevelopingcloud-nativeapplications onAzureand/orAWS,includingcontainerizeddeployments.
• Hands-onexpertisewithKafka,Kubernetes,Rancher,Istio,Apigee,Jenkins/CloudBees,GitLab,andCI/CDpipelines.
• Strong understanding of softwaredesignpatterns,applicationarchitecture,resiliency,security,observability,monitoring,andreliabilityengineering.
• Experienceimplementingautomatedtestingframeworks includingJest,ReactTestingLibrary,Cypress,andPlaywright.
• KnowledgeofAI/MLapplicationdevelopment,includingGenerativeAI,LLMs,RAG,AgenticAI,LangChain,LangGraph,SemanticKernel,MCP,AzureOpenAI,OpenAI,Anthropic,orGemini.
• ProvenabilitytoleadcomplexinitiativesinAgileandDevOpsenvironments,influencetechnicaldirection,andcollaborateeffectivelywithcross-functionalstakeholders.

Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
