About the Department
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.
Overview of the Role
Functional Management and User Testing Manager is a people-leading role who takes care of overall functional domain of Retail systems under 3 key pillars (Core Banking, Cards and Channels), and oversights user testing.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Provide guidance and oversight to functional specialists and UAT coordinators across Core Banking, Cards, and Channels.
- Act as the escalation point for critical issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and operational readiness.
Functional Governance
- Review and validate Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Specification Documents (FSD).
- Ensure functional changes are analyzed thoroughly and translated into clear test scopes and design.
- Ensure smooth transition of changes into production with minimal business disruption.
- Participate in issue investigation and recovery for production incidents.
UAT Strategy & Execution
- Define UAT governance framework, including strategy, standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor UAT planning, execution, and defect management across projects and change requests with relevant stakeholders such as Retail Banking, Technology (GBT), Operations, and testing team.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and dependencies effectively to senior stakeholders.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all functional and testing activities comply with regulatory requirements, UOB policies, and audit standards.
- Maintain documentation for governance and audit purposes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s/University degree in Business Administrate, Finance or Economics.
- 3-5 years in banking operations, functional analysis, and UAT management.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking products (CASA, deposits, cards) and channels.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and defect management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Fluent and effective in spoken and written English with strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in managing projects and regulatory implementations is a plus.
