IT Program Manager (DataMgt)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is hiring an IT Program Manager (DataMgt) for the Center for Medicare. The role provides technical expertise in advanced data systems analysis and design, leads data management and IT projects, performs data science analyses, and oversees contractor performance and acquisition materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex data management efforts, overseeing data storage, modeling, and warehousing systems to resolve critical agency data integration issues
• Perform advanced data science analyses using programming languages to clean large datasets and translate complex findings into actionable IT strategies
• Direct large-scale, complex IT and data management projects, managing lifecycle plans, risk mitigation, resource allocation, and project schedules
• Serve as a technical expert to oversee contractor performance and develop acquisition materials

• I have IT-related experience, demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that I possess each of the following four competencies:

• You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
• 1. Providing planning and implementation of systems analysis for data management applications
• 2. Developing pilot initiatives and applications to make recommendations on system implementation; and
• 3. Leading CMS healthcare program projects to develop solutions for data management systems
• To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying
