Vantor is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Radiometric Calibration, Assessment, and Monitoring (RadCAM) team in Longmont, CO. This is a unique opportunity to build software that directly supports the calibration and performance of a satellite constellation. You'llwork alongside scientists and remote sensing experts to ensure the quality of the imagery and data products used by customers around the world. Responsibilities:
Support RadCAM software systems within Vantor's space operations and production environments.
Perform service design and architecture and perform service reliability monitoring on existing systems.Provide software design and technical support to members of the RadCAM team.
Develop and test software that integrates with the existing ground system through the Vantor continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline.Develop automated unit, integration, and functional tests.
Collaborate with RadCAM’sSubject Matter Experts (SMEs) to commission future satellite imaging sensorsand enhance the current capacity of Vantor’s radiometric calibration operations.
Provide an interface between RadCAM team and the greater Vantor software development teams and assistin guiding RadCAM team’s adhering tosoftware best practices.
Provide architectural and design advice on the future direction of a cloud-based,distributed tech stack.
Troubleshoot operational issuesand data anomalies, on the ground and in space.
Support deadlines and communicate issues/results.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field
Two additionalyears of experience may be substituted for a degree
Minimum of 5years of related experience with a Bachelor'sdegree; or 3yearsand a Master'sdegree; or a PhD; or equivalent experience.
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
Strong software engineering skills
Experience withCI/CDpipeline deployment workflow
Experience developing applications that run on Linux
Preferred Qualifications:
Willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
Python fluency
Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems
Experience with image processing, geospatial analysis, and remote sensing data.
Experience working in an Agile process
Experience supporting operations in production and test environments
Experience with SOA/REST/JSON in Kubernetes and AWS
Experience with PostgreSQL
Experience with operational support of an AWS Cloud Infrastructureand microservice based architecture
Experience with docker and virtual environments
Pay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
•The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
