Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Schedule production for different workstations by taking into account demand forecasts, operational priorities, and available resources to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing flow
- Perform level loading of manufacturing activities in a structured manner to maintain a balanced workflow across all work centres and avoid overburdening or underutilization
· Plan and allocate work shifts efficiently by evaluating production requirements, workforce availability, and shift-wise capacity constraints
· Align production schedules with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure consistency between planning and execution
Capacity & Resource Management
· Monitor and manage plant capacity utilization by continuously assessing machine loading, manpower allocation, and production efficiency levels across departments
- Optimize resource allocation across machines and manpower in order to achieve maximum productivity while maintaining operational stability and quality
Material Planning & Availability
- Ensure material availability for uninterrupted production by closely monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with Fulfilment team
- Track and resolve material shortages in a proactive manner by collaborating with procurement, warehouse, and planning teams to avoid production delays
- Maintain end-to-end visibility of inventory levels and consumption patterns to support effective and informed production planning decisions
Order Management
- Release manufacturing orders through ERP systems in alignment with approved production plans and scheduling timelines
- Re-schedule manufacturing orders dynamically based on changing priorities, urgent requirements, or unforeseen disruptions in operations
- Monitor order execution progress regularly to ensure timely completion and strict adherence to delivery commitments
Production Control
- Monitor Plan vs Actual production performance on a continuous basis and conduct detailed analysis of variances to identify gaps and improvement areas
- Implement corrective measures and follow-up actions to ensure alignment with defined production targets and schedules
- Ensure strict adherence to planned schedules by coordinating with shop floor teams and resolving execution-related challenges
Inventory Management
- Manage raw material (RM), work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory with a focus on maintaining operational continuity
- Ensure optimum stock levels are maintained by balancing production requirements with inventory holding costs and storage limitations
- Work towards reducing excess and obsolete inventory through effective planning, monitoring, and control mechanisms
Process Improvement
- Apply lean methodology principles to improve operational efficiency by identifying waste and streamlining production processes
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement by analysing existing workflows and recommending practical improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, reducing inefficiencies, and improving overall process effectiveness
Systems & Tools
- Work on ERP systems for production planning, scheduling, and execution tracking to ensure data-driven decision-making
- Utilize MS Excel for preparing reports, performing data analysis, and supporting operational reviews
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of data within planning systems to enable effective monitoring and reporting
