DevOps Architect

Walker Digital Table Systems (WDTS) is looking for an experienced DevOps Architect to design, build, and scale highly available, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will drive DevOps transformation by architecting enterprise-grade platforms, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and establishing engineering best practices across cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and manage enterprise Kubernetes platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain scalable DevOps platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design secure, highly available, and cost-optimized AWS infrastructure, including networking, IAM, multi-account architecture, and governance.
• Develop and implement platform automation using Python, Shell scripting, APIs, and infrastructure automation tools.
• Manage and optimize large-scale distributed platforms, including Kafka, databases, and mission-critical applications.
• Design resilient infrastructure with high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
• Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, and other distributed monitoring tools.
• Establish DevOps standards, governance, security best practices, platform architecture, and operational excellence across engineering teams.
• Lead cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and platform engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with development, security, infrastructure, and product teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Mentor DevOps engineers and provide technical leadership on platform architecture and automation initiatives.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes architecture, administration, troubleshooting, and cluster management across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of AWS cloud services, networking, VPC design, IAM, security, multi-account strategy, and cloud cost optimization.
• Strong experience managing highly available Kafka clusters, databases, and enterprise application platforms.
• Expertise in Linux system administration.
• Strong programming and automation skills using Python, Shell scripting, and REST APIs.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, and distributed tracing solutions.
• Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available, and disaster recovery-ready infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, infrastructure security, governance, compliance, and platform reliability.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Experience with container security and Kubernetes security best practices.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent) are a plus.
