What you'll do...

Provides member service by acknowledging the members, identifying member needs, assisting with members purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues and concerns, and promoting the company's products and services. Promotes and educates members on health and wellness services through engagements.

Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking merchandise, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise appropriately, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise. Maintains the sales floor in the Optical area in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Receives and stocks merchandise in the Optical area and organizes and maintains the Optical area by following company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing paperwork, logs, and other required documentation. Where applicable, receives, audits and maintains hearing aid inventory and processes sales and refunds through POS systems. Operates hardware (for example, cash registers, related equipment), processes member purchases, and assists in payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types.

Educates members on eyewear usage and care and supports contact lens insertions, removals, and hygiene guidance. Sells Optical products and services by assisting members with purchasing decisions, measuring, adjusting, and repairing frames and lenses, completing eyewear/contact lens orders, and identifying and verifying prescription information. Accurately measures pupillary distance and position of wear for various lens types, including bifocal, trifocal, occupational, and progressive lenses, using manual and digital systems. Performs frame adjustments and repairs and completes final inspection of eyewear prior to dispensing. Troubleshoots member non-adapt issues and communicates with labs and optometrists regarding job status and product update. Processes optical eyewear and contact lens orders, monitors trial lens inventory, and ensures calibration and cleanliness of optical equipment. Performs final inspection of eyewear, including compound prism verification, and troubleshoots non-adapt issues. Communicates with labs and optometrists regarding job status, product updates, and reordering expired lenses. Troubleshoots equipment failure issues and coordinates repairs. As applicable and under guidance of the contracted or associate Optometrist, schedules patient appointments, performs pre-testing, and records results. Embraces the utilization of new and existing technology while supporting optometric support services.

Collects payments for doctor/telehealth services Processes member visits by scheduling and confirming appointments, following company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.

Maintains and files records in compliance with HIPAA and company procedures. Requests, reviews, and processes insurance claims and payments for doctor services where applicable optometric support services are contracted. Requests, reviews, and processes insurance claims, payments, and chargebacks for eye care materials Provides supervision, training, and state-registered sponsorship of unlicensed associates, and where applicable licensed associates, as a preceptor for associates enrolled in company-funded educational programs. Completes assigned virtual and hands-on trainings, including those necessary to acquire and maintain required certification and licensure, as applicable. Maintains NPI registration, where applicable, and advanced knowledge of eye anatomy and diagnostic testing. Participates in continuing education and internal development opportunities to enhance technical and service capabilities. Satisfies state board requirements towards maintaining state licensure while ensuring there is no lapse in licensure Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.

Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities.

The hourly wage range for this position is $30.00 to $38.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

As required by state regulations, registers and maintains Optician in Charge status. Meets continuing education requirements for state licensure/certifications. Maintain active state licensure and/or registration. Maintains active ABO and/or NCLE certifications through the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE). Eligible and willing to sponsor Apprentice Optical Technicians as required by state regulations. High school diploma, GED or equivalent, unless state specific regulations required advanced education.

As required by state regulations, maintains NPI number and licensure.
