Weibel Scientific is a Danish technology company founded in 1936 and based near Copenhagen. It develops Doppler radar systems used in defence, space launch tracking and ballistics testing. Its radars are supplied to armed forces and space agencies worldwide.

Do you have experience with planning and testing complex systems?

At Weibel you will join a truly technology driven company that delivers excellent Doppler Radars across the world. Weibel is recognized as a world-leader in radar technology, with our radars performing with a precision largely unmatched by competitors. Applications for our radars include Space Research, Missile Defence, Instrumentation Systems and lately for drone and UAS detection. Our radars are produced at our HQ in Allerød, north of Copenhagen.

Increasing customer demand means that the company is experiencing rapid growth. As part of this, we are extending our leadership team in our System Integration, Test & Verification team with one more experienced System Test Manager.

Oversee the system test of our state-of-the-art radars

As System Test Manager you take ownership of system test activities across the development lifecycle of our advanced radar products. In this leadership role you will plan, prioritize, and drive the work of one or maybe a few Scrum teams of test engineers, ensuring that integrated hardware and software meet system requirements, performance targets, quality standards, and customer expectations.

You will be part of a test leadership team comprising four System Test Managers. Each manager supports a dedicated program with deliveries based on our radar platforms and owns the test plan for the projects in the program. Coordination with the other three test managers is therefore also relevant to inspire and maximize reuse to continuously improve testing and execute as efficiently as possible.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and drive the execution of integration, functional, performance, robustness, environmental and regression testing through one or more Scrum teams of test engineers.
  • Define test scope and methods and translate program priorities and test needs into clear team objectives, backlogs, milestones, dependencies, and delivery expectations.
  • Align with the other System Test Managers on shared methods, mechanisms and specialist resources.
  • Establish test readiness criteria, and communicate product maturity, coverage, results, and residual risks to the Technical Project Manager in the Program
  • Drive automation, repeatability, data quality, and continuous improvement in test processes.
  • Support customer demonstrations, qualification activities, and formal acceptance testing when required.
  • Act as a technical lead and mentor for a team of System Test Engineers, and be part of creating a culture with focus on quality and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Hardware and Software development teams to define test requirements and ensure seamless integration
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

About you

You thrive in an environment that requires you to work independently on some tasks and in close collaboration with your colleagues across the entire company on others. You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detailed-oriented mindset. You show initiative and drive, take responsibility, have strong communication skills, work effectively across teams and dare to challenge the team to ensure high quality. You understand how the Scrum methodology applies in a system test context.

Your CV include:

  • A relevant engineering degree
  • 10+ years of experience in system testing of complex integrated HW and SW systems
  • Proven technical leadership experience, managing test teams in an agile development environment
  • Experience working with Requirements and Test management tools (we use Helix)
  • Strong understanding of test automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Experience with systems engineering in relation to complex systems
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. ISTQB) is an advantage
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Experience with radar systems or complex systems for military use, is considered an advantage

Your new team

You will be joining our team of more than 25 colleagues in the Integration, Test & Verification team. Our responsibilities span across system integration and testing as well as qualification of our products and we are divided into two competency domains. Each domain is represented by an Engineering Manager in the Test Leadership team, which also has four System Test Managers, where you will be one.

The level of experience in the team spans from newly graduates to more than +20 years of experience. Our team members have different educational backgrounds that vary from satellite, aerospace, earth and space physics to mechanical and electrical engineering. We have created it in this way, because we believe that bringing people with different competences together will generate the best solutions.

Contact and application

Please apply at our website using the ”Apply” button. If you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact Director Integration, Test & Verification, Lars Boye on [email protected].
