The Role

Hybrid Working Requirement: Candidates should be flexible to attend our Marousi, Athens office 3 times per week. Please note that travel or commuting expenses will not be covered for candidates residing outside Attiki or outside a reasonable commuting distance.

Scope of Tasks

• Owning and delivering the entire lifecycle of medium-sized projects or features within the team as a strong individual contributor
• Breaking down small to medium-sized engineering problems and leading other engineers to solve them effectively
• Writing high-quality code regarded by peers as a standard for the engineering domain while following the principle of leaving the codebase better than it was found and ensuring all code has adequate test coverage.
• Providing context and clarity through documentation, proposals, and runbooks so others can easily understand the "what" and "why" of the built solutions
• Identifying and addressing existing gaps in observability and monitoring while independently managing escalations for the team and discipline
• Performing thorough code reviews within the domain and submitting helpful, constructive comments to maintain high standards
• Balancing short-term needs against long-term stability when responding to incidents or production issues in the area of expertise
• Presenting team work or technical proposals to a larger audience during events such as Sprint Reviews or tech demos
• Participating actively in the hiring process by conducting interviews and providing effective feedback in scorecards and debriefs
• Scaling the team's performance by onboarding new engineers and mentoring less experienced team members working alongside them
• Leverage Claude code and an agentic development lifecycle to deliver at pace, helping XTM to evolve our AIDLC in line with industry best practice

Requirements

• Being a solid individual contributor able to take on any technical problem related to the discipline or domain confidently
• Demonstrating approximately 2 years of experience as a guide to progress from a junior to a regular software engineer level
• Showing high proficiency in the engineering domain and a good knowledge of the frameworks and tools used in the SDLC
• Acting as a trusted problem solver capable of leading the resolution of critical bugs or incidents related to the work area
• Proactively identifying problems in the product or platform and improving stability through better alerts and monitoring
• Communicating clearly how work with others helps the team reach its goals while persisting when faced with uncertainty or ambiguity
• Promoting good practices in non-functional areas such as accessibility, performance, and security to help other engineers deepen their knowledge
• Proactively seeking and giving timely, actionable feedback that has a positive impact on the overall contribution of the team
• Providing estimates and executing on proposals effectively without negatively affecting overall deliverables
• Escalating problems that have a wider scope than the team or work and supporting them until a successful conclusion is reached
• Possessing English language skills at a minimum B1/B2 level to articulate technical solutions and collaborate in an international environment
• Possessing a keen desire to work in an agentic driven development organisation with experience in harness engineering desirable.
