We are seeking a Sales Engineer (SE) to join our presales organization. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy professional who is eager to master the art of solution selling in a presales environment. You will work alongside Account Executives to understand mid-market customer requirements, configure compelling software demonstrations, and explain the power of Zendesk’s core platform and AI solutions. You will focus on building deep product expertise and delivering flawless execution of standard sales cycles.

You’ll be aligned to the AMER region, with a strong focus on English speaking customers, so excellent English is a need.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver Tailored Demonstrations: Configure and deliver engaging, value-mapped product presentations showcasing Zendesk’s core capabilities, including automated AI agents and messaging workflows.
• Support Discovery & Scoping: Assist in technical discovery conversations to uncover operational challenges, system dependencies, and integration requirements from prospects.
• Build Standard POCs: Build out standard sandbox environments and proof-of-concept setups that accurately validate Zendesk’s ability to solve the customer’s immediate requirements.
• Address Technical Questionnaires: Take ownership of standard security, architectural, and RFP/RFI questionnaires to support deal progression.
• Leverage Internal Best Practices: Adopt internal framework templates, scripts, and pre-built API recipes to ensure high-quality and consistent technical deliverables.

What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent practical technology experience.
• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in solution engineering, technical support, implementation consulting, or customer success within a B2B SaaS environment.
• Technical Basics: Comfortable working with APIs, JSON structures, webhooks, and modern web browser troubleshooting tools.
• AI Fluency: AI-fluent with a strong understanding of the generative AI landscape, model capabilities, and conversational workflow architecture.
• Domain Knowledge: Baseline understanding of customer service metrics, CRM systems, or standard help desk workflows.
• Travel Commitment: Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% annually for regional customer presentations and team events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of a scripting language like JavaScript or standard data structures.
• Strong written communication skills with experience answering technical questionnaires or documentation requests.
• Strong English skills.
