Overview
New Flyer is a Winnipeg-based manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses, building the Xcelsior and Xcelsior CHARGE lines in clean diesel, hybrid, CNG, trolley, battery-electric and fuel cell-electric versions. Founded in 1930 and now a subsidiary of NFI Group, it is the largest transit bus maker in North America, supports more than 35,000 buses operated by about 500 agencies and has delivered over 1,900 zero-emission buses. Its plants in Canada and the US hire assembly and electrical technicians, welders, painters, material handlers and production workers across shifts, as well as manufacturing, industrial and quality engineers.
