Overview
Pony.ai is an autonomous driving company founded in 2016 by two former Baidu autonomous vehicle engineers, operating from bases in Guangzhou and Fremont, California. It runs fully driverless robotaxi services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, holding permits in all four Chinese tier-one cities, and has expanded into the Middle East and Europe through partnerships with local operators. The company also develops autonomous trucking through Pony Truck, builds its Virtual Driver software to be portable across vehicle platforms from Toyota, GAC and BAIC, and listed on Nasdaq in 2024.
