Overview
The Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC) is a nonprofit professional association, founded in 1966 as an affiliate of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, that supports professionals guiding students from high school to college. Its more than 2,800 members come from secondary schools, colleges and universities, independent counselors and community groups across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, the Carolinas and Tennessee. Volunteer-run, with an office address in Van Alstyne, Texas, it organizes an annual conference, admission workshops, college fairs and webinars and funds the Extending the Dream grant.
