Overview
Varda Space Industries is an El Segundo, California company that builds and flies autonomous W-Series spacecraft to process pharmaceuticals in microgravity and return them to Earth in reentry capsules. Founded in January 2021 by Will Bruey and Delian Asparouhov and backed by Khosla Ventures, Lux Capital, Founders Fund and General Catalyst, it builds its payloads, capsules, heat shields and satellite buses in-house and sells reentry flights as a hypersonic testbed for government customers. It hires flight, embedded, mission and ground software engineers, firmware engineers, structures, aerodynamics and thermofluids engineers, and manufacturing engineers.
