Engineer - Software Testing

We are looking for a Test Engineer with hands-on experience in the Payments domain to perform functional, integration, API, and regression testing for banking payment applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, and banking workflows, along with experience in manual testing and defect management.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements related to payment applications.
• Design, review, and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform Functional, Integration, System, Smoke, Sanity, Regression, and UAT support.
• Validate payment transactions across NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, UPI, NACH, ECS, and AEPS (as applicable).
• Perform API testing using Postman, SOAP UI, or Rest Assured.
• Validate interfaces between payment systems, Core Banking Systems (CBS), and third-party applications.
• Execute database validation using SQL queries.
• Log, track, and retest defects using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar defect management tools.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners to resolve defects and clarify requirements.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and defect triage meetings.
• Prepare test execution reports and maintain testing documentation.

Required Skills

• 3-6 years of experience in Manual Testing within the Banking/Payments domain.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems such as NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, UPI, NACH, ECS, and ISO 20022.
• Experience in Functional, Integration, Regression, and System Testing.
• Hands-on experience in API Testing using Postman or SOAP UI.
• Good knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or ALM.
• Understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification is an added advantage.
• Experience in Core Banking, Digital Banking, or Financial Services projects is preferred.
