Job Description:
The DC1 Debits/Transfers Coordinator supports the timely and accurate movement of debit and transfer freight. This role serves as a central point of coordination between internal departments, transportation teams, carriers, vendors, and other external partners. The Coordinator is accountable for scheduling and communicating pickups, monitoring freight readiness, maintaining accurate records, resolving exceptions, and helping ensure Debits and Transfers meet established service levels and operational goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate freight pickups with internal transportation partners, external carriers, vendors, and other business partners.
- Confirm freight is identified, documented, staged, and ready before scheduled pickup times.
- Communicate pickup details, schedule changes, delays, and special handling requirements to the appropriate partners and operational teams.
- Maintain accurate logs and supporting documentation for debits, transfers, pickups, trailer activity, and shipment status.
- Monitor open debits and transfers, follow up on aging or delayed freight, and escalate risks that may affect service levels.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for researching and resolving pickup, shipment, inventory, or documentation discrepancies.
- Partner with DC1 Operations, Production Control, Transportation, Inventory Control, Security, IT, Facilities, and other support teams as needed.
- Use available systems and reporting tools to track workload, prioritize work, and provide timely status updates.
- Identify process-efficiency opportunities and recommend solutions that improve accuracy, communication, and freight flow.
- Support department-specific tasks and daily workload priorities to keep Debits and Transfers on plan.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of distribution, logistics, transportation, inventory, or coordinator experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear and timely email communication
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and curious approach
- Ability to build effective working relationships across DC operations, home-office teams, carriers, and external partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and SharePoint
- Experience with warehouse management, transportation, reporting, or inventory systems preferred
- Able to work overtime, including additional days, based on business needs
