AMD

AMD is an American semiconductor company founded in 1969 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, that designs processors, graphics chips and adaptive computing hardware without owning fabrication plants. Its Ryzen and Threadripper processors and Radeon graphics serve consumers and creators, EPYC server chips have taken a large share of the data centre market from Intel, and the Instinct accelerators compete for AI training and inference workloads. The 2022 acquisition of Xilinx added field-programmable gate arrays and adaptive systems on chip, and the company also supplies the custom silicon inside the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly technical and partner-focused Solutions Architect to join AMD's Global Partner Team, with dedicated focus on our strategic Global Systems Integrator (GSI) partners. This role will serve as a trusted technical advisor to GSIs, helping shape technical strategy, develop repeatable AMD-based solutions and offerings, and accelerate adoption of AMD technologies across enterprise customers and industry use cases.

Working closely with GSI architects, developers, practices, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and business leaders, this individual will help partners design and bring to market differentiated solutions spanning AI and Generative AI, data center, cloud, client, embedded, HPC, and networking technologies.

This is a highly collaborative and hands-on role requiring a unique combination of deep technical expertise, solution architecture, partner leadership, and business acumen. You will work across GSI and AMD engineering, product, sales, and business teams to turn emerging technologies into scalable partner solutions and compelling customer outcomes.

THE PERSON:

Does this sound like you? We'd love to talk!

  • Deep Technical Expertise: Strong technical foundation across enterprise architecture, software and hardware platforms, AI, data center, cloud, and modern application environments, with the ability and willingness to work hands-on.
  • Solution Architecture & Innovation: Ability to translate complex technologies and customer requirements into scalable architectures, proofs of concept/value, and repeatable partner solutions.
  • Technical Influence & Executive Presence: Comfortable engaging audiences ranging from developers and architects to senior technical and business executives, translating complex technical capabilities into meaningful business value.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to influence and mobilize teams across partner organizations, engineering, product, sales, and business functions without direct authority.
  • Curiosity & Hands-On Mindset: Self-directed learner who is comfortable entering unfamiliar technical territory, solving complex problems, and operating as both a strategic advisor and a doer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive strategic technical alignment with GSI partners, shaping solution strategy and developing repeatable AMD-based offerings and joint innovation initiatives.
  • Develop GSI-level technical strategies, solution architectures, practices, Centers of Excellence, proofs of concept/value, and scalable offerings built on AMD technologies.
  • Partner with GSI architects, developers, and technical leaders to accelerate adoption of AMD technologies across partner offerings, platforms, and services.
  • Work closely with AMD and GSI Solutions Architects, engineering, product, sales, and business teams to design full-stack solutions for enterprise and industry-specific use cases.
  • Lead technical enablement through workshops, demonstrations, architecture guidance, proofs of value, and coaching for GSI technical teams.
  • Participate in joint business planning and executive/business reviews, ensuring alignment between AMD and GSI technical strategies, priorities, and investments.
  • Analyze GSI practices, services, and offerings and identify opportunities to increase differentiation and customer value through AMD technologies and capabilities.
  • Serve as a technical advocate for GSI partners within AMD, bringing forward partner use cases, feature requirements, technical challenges, and support needs and helping drive them toward resolution.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop technical vision and actionable strategies that support joint go-to-market priorities and business growth.
  • Represent AMD and our GSI partnerships with customers and at partner and industry events, articulating the technical and business value of AMD solutions across AI, data center, cloud, client, embedded, HPC, and networking.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Direct experience working at or closely with Global Systems Integrators, with strong understanding of GSI practices, solution development, Centers of Excellence, industry use cases, and go-to-market models.
  • Strong solution architecture and development experience across AI/ML and Generative AI, data center, cloud, HPC, client, and/or enterprise application environments.
  • Hands-on understanding of modern software development and DevOps lifecycles, including experience working directly with developers and technical teams.
  • Experience architecting full-stack infrastructure solutions spanning compute, storage, networking, virtualization, containers, and orchestration.
  • Experience with technologies and platforms such as Kubernetes, VMware, Nutanix, Red Hat OpenShift, and related enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of AI and data ecosystems, ML/DL frameworks, MLOps, and modern AI application development.
  • Experience developing proofs of concept/value, technical enablement programs, reference architectures, or repeatable partner solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex technical architectures and capabilities into compelling customer, partner, and business value propositions.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging both technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across highly matrixed global organizations while independently driving initiatives forward.
