AP+

AP+ operates Australia's domestic payments infrastructure - including the eftpos debit network, BPAY bill payments, and the NPP (the country's real-time payments system) - along with ConnectID, a safe and secure way to verify identity. By partnering with more than 150 organisations we connect banks, financial institutions, retailers, businesses, government agencies and fintechs to make it possible for everyone in Australia to pay, get paid, and prove their identity every day. We're shaping the future of payments by enabling innovation, enhancing security, and ensuring the payments system works better for everyone.

Life @ AP+:

We are one connected team in pursuit of one inspiring purpose - to unite people and technology to power better experiences. Each of us has a part to play in making that happen. You’ll be encouraged to bring your big ideas forward and make a difference through your work. Taking steps forward in your career whilst still having room for fun, friendships, and flexibility in your daily life.

We’re driven by our core values: lead with heart, learn for tomorrow and live our legacy. A purpose like ours takes the inspired impact of an incredible team. Ready to change the game? We’re ready to help you do it.

The Purpose:

Great internal communicators create clarity, build connection and help people feel confident about what comes next. Working in a 6 month max term contract role, (with the potential of an additional six month extension), as our Communications Manager - Internal, you’ll lead communications and employee engagement for significant change initiatives across AP+, turning complex change into clear, creative and human stories that people can understand, connect with and act on.

Key Responsibilities the Role Owns:

  • This role will be responsible for delivering communications to support two key change initiatives for AP+ - a migration from Slack to Teams and an Office move.
  • The successful candidate will own the internal communications and engagement plans for these significant AP+ change initiatives, shaping the narrative from early awareness through to adoption.
  • Turn complex change into simple, compelling stories, creating clear messaging about what is changing, why it matters, when it is happening and what employees need to do.
  • Create engaging content and campaigns across intranet, Teams, email, All Hands, events, workplace screens, video and other employee channels.
  • Partner with project teams, Technology, People & Culture, leaders and internal Design Studio to deliver a joined-up employee experience.
  • Equip leaders and people managers with practical communications, talking points and guidance so they can confidently bring their teams through change.
  • Listen to employee questions and feedback, measure reach, engagement and adoption, and continually adapt communications to make them more effective.
  • Manage an external agency who will support on the set up of the Teams migration and support on the development of training manuals and training for staff.

You’ll likely be a strong fit for this role if:

  • You’re an experienced internal communications, employee engagement or change communications professional, with 6+ years’ experience and exposure to large-scale organisational change.
  • You're familiar with Teams Viva Engage.
  • You know how to take something complex, technical or ambiguous and turn it into communications that feel simple, relevant and human.
  • You’re a strong storyteller and content creator who can move comfortably between campaign narratives, executive messaging, as well as briefing Design Studio and external agency to develop digital content, video and practical employee guidance.
  • You understand how internal channels work together - including Microsoft Teams and intranets - and know how to use the right channel for the right audience and moment.
  • You’re confident partnering with senior leaders, project teams and subject matter experts, constructively challenging where needed to get to the clearest message.
  • You care about impact, not just output - using employee feedback, readership, engagement and adoption data to understand what is landing and what needs to change.

What happens next:

At AP+, we believe in the power of passion, pride and purpose. Our team is driven by a shared mission to make a difference in the world of payments, and we're proud to work together towards this common goal.

If you love making complex change, feel clear, creating communications people actually want to engage with, and helping employees feel connected and confident through change, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’re ready to be a game changer, please submit your application. The Talent Acquisition team will endeavour to review your application and notify you of the outcome within the next two weeks.

We want to remove all barriers to inclusion, so if you need advice or support with your application, we’re here to help. Please reach out to [email protected]. We also encourage you to let us know your pronouns at any point during the recruitment process.
