Arabiat Egypt is looking for a motivated Projects Engineer to join our Projects Department and support the delivery of multiple automotive, commercial and development projects.
This is an Owner-side position offering hands-on exposure to the complete project lifecycle while working directly with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will report to the Projects Manager and work between the head office and project sites, supporting both project coordination and site follow-up.
The Role
You will support the Projects Management Department in coordinating multiple concurrent projects from design and tendering through construction, handover and closeout.
Your responsibilities will include:
Project & Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate between the Owner, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal departments.
Follow up project requirements, deliverables, approvals, decisions and action items.
Support coordination of design, procurement and construction activities across different projects.
Identify potential delays, coordination problems and project risks and escalate them appropriately.
Site Coordination & Progress Follow-Up
Attend project sites regularly as part of the Owner's project team.
Monitor and coordinate site activities and actual progress.
Follow up contractors and consultants regarding outstanding works, technical issues and agreed actions.
Check availability of approved drawings, materials, manpower and required information affecting progress.
Participate in site inspections, coordination meetings, snagging, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
Monitor quality and HSE observations and follow up their closure with the responsible parties.
Planning & Project Controls
Follow up master schedules, milestones and short-term look-ahead programs.
Compare planned versus actual project progress.
Maintain action, milestone and issue trackers.
Assist in monitoring key project indicators including schedule, cost/variations, procurement, submittals, quality, HSE, risks and closeout status.
Support preparation and follow-up of corrective and recovery actions when required.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain organized and updated project records.
Follow up drawings, RFIs, submittals, approvals, correspondence, variations and other project documentation.
Prepare Minutes of Meetings, action logs and decision trackers.
Prepare weekly/monthly project progress reports and photographic site reports.
Support preparation of dashboards and management presentations.
Tendering & Procurement
Support preparation of RFQs/RFPs and tender documentation.
Assist with technical comparisons and bid evaluations.
Follow up procurement activities and long-lead items.
Coordinate technical requirements with consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Quality, Handover & Closeout
Follow up quality observations, NCRs and snag lists.
Participate in inspections and handover activities.
Follow up as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and project closeout documentation.
Support defects-liability follow-up after handover.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, site engineering, technical office, project coordination or project management.
Previous Owner-side experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
Good understanding of the project lifecycle and fundamental Project Management principles.
Exposure to commercial, automotive, industrial, retail or similar projects is preferred.
Technical & Digital Skills
Good command of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project is preferred.
Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
Revit/BIM knowledge.
Power BI/dashboarding experience is a plus.
Basic understanding of drawings, specifications, BOQs, RFIs, submittals, variations and construction documentation.
Familiarity with digital collaboration tools such as MS Teams, Planner or equivalent platforms.
AI-Enabled Project Management
Basic familiarity with AI tools is preferred.
The candidate should be willing to develop the use of AI for project reporting, document review, meeting minutes, correspondence, data analysis, knowledge retrieval and other project-management activities.
Language & Personal Skills
English: Good to professional working proficiency, including technical and business writing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organization and follow-up capability.
Attention to detail with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Ability to coordinate several activities and projects simultaneously.
Willingness to continuously learn and develop within Project Management.
