Carmoola is a London financial technology company founded in 2021 that provides car finance directly through a mobile app. Its underwriting approves a budget before the buyer visits a dealer, which reverses the usual sequence of choosing a car then arranging credit at the forecourt. The company holds its own lending permissions rather than acting as a broker.

Location: London (hybrid, minimum 2 days a week in the office) Type: Full-time

Join the Revolution in Car Finance

At Carmoola, we're changing the way people get on the road, making it faster, fairer, and entirely built around the customer. We've started with car finance, reimagining it from the ground up with a seamless, digital experience that puts drivers in control.

Since launch, we've raised over £560m from top-tier investors (including QED), helped over 25,000 customers get behind the wheel, and we're scaling fast.

As we grow, so does our Collections function, and we're looking for an analytical, commercially-minded Collections Analyst to use data to shape how we support customers who fall behind, and to make sure we do it fairly, effectively and at scale.

Your Mission

You'll own the numbers behind our Collections function. You'll dig into the data to understand what's working, where customers are struggling, and how we can help more of them get back on track. Your analysis will directly shape our collections strategy, and the recommendations you make will influence real decisions about how we operate.

This is not a phones role. You'll be the analytical brain of the team, turning data into insight and insight into action. To help you move fast, you'll have a suite of embedded AI tools at your fingertips to speed up your analysis, surface patterns and turn data into recommendations. It's a brilliant opportunity to build deep expertise in collections while getting wide exposure to how a fast-scaling lender really works.

What You'll Be Doing

Analyse collections performance. Build and maintain reporting on arrears, roll rates, cure rates, payment arrangements and recoveries, and turn it into clear, usable insight.

Shape collections strategy. Use data to identify what drives good customer outcomes, and make evidence-based recommendations that improve both customer experience and portfolio performance.

Test and learn. Design and evaluate experiments across contact strategies, segmentation and treatment paths, and measure their real impact.

Model and forecast. Support forecasting of arrears and losses, and help size the impact of proposed changes before we make them.

Partner across the business. Work closely with the Collections team, Operations, Finance and Risk to bring your recommendations to life.

Keep it fair and compliant. Make sure strategies and treatments align with FCA CONC guidance, Consumer Duty and the fair treatment of customers, especially those in vulnerable circumstances.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

Strong analytical skills. You're confident working with data, comfortable in SQL and spreadsheets (and ideally a BI tool or two), and able to turn messy numbers into a clear story.

A genuine interest in collections. You're curious about how lending, arrears and customer behaviour work, and you want to build real expertise in this space. Direct collections experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

Commercial judgement. You connect the analysis to real decisions and understand the trade-offs between customer outcomes and business performance.

Clear communication. You can explain your findings simply to people who aren't analysts, and make a persuasive, well-evidenced case for change.

A self-starter mindset. You can take an open question, structure it, and drive it through to a clear answer with limited direction.

Keen to work with AI. We've built a suite of embedded AI tools into how we work, and we want someone genuinely excited to use them to analyse faster, dig deeper and get to better answers.

Care for the customer. Even though you're not on the phone, you keep fair outcomes and Consumer Duty front of mind in everything you recommend.

Genuine excitement for Carmoola's mission and the chance to help shape how people get on the road.

If you don't tick every box, please apply anyway. We care far more about attitude, curiosity and potential than a perfect match on paper, and we'd love to hear from you.
