Cloud Protection protects Fortune 500 enterprises and government organizations worldwide from malware, phishing, and identity-based attacks in Salesforce. Our work builds on more than 30 years of experience in analyzing malware and defending against advanced threats - expertise few security companies can match.
It's our people who make that possible. Newly independent after years as WithSecure's most autonomous business unit, we combine the focus and speed of a startup with decades of cybersecurity depth. We're a diverse team that values passion, purpose, and genuine wellbeing at work, and we're looking for people who want to set the standard for Salesforce security with us. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Threat Intelligence team. You’ll take a key role in designing and developing the data systems that support our security platform, enabling threat detection, protection decisions and security research. You’ll work across data engineering, architecture and analysis, from making architectural decisions to developing data pipelines and exploring data to support our protection capabilities.
This is a senior individual contributor role combining hands-on data engineering with architectural ownership and close collaboration with threat researchers, detection engineers and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data architectures that support threat detection, security analytics, and protection services.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, processing workflows and integrations that make security telemetry and threat intelligence available for detection and analysis.
- Define data models and storage approaches that support both real-time protection decisions and historical security investigations.
- Analyze and explore datasets to identify data quality issues, understand patterns and support the development and evaluation of detection capabilities.
- Evaluate data technologies and architectural approaches, balancing performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability and cost.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, access, retention and monitoring across data systems.
- Work closely with detection engineers, threat researchers, and development teams to translate security use cases into practical data solutions.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in data engineering or related technical roles, including hands-on experience designing and implementing production data systems and making architectural decisions.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python or similar programming languages, data pipelines, data modeling and data processing technologies.
- Experience designing scalable data systems that handle large volumes of data, including real-time or near-real-time processing.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, distributed data processing and different data storage technologies.
- Ability to work directly with data to investigate quality issues, analyze patterns and validate technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs involving performance, reliability, maintainability and cost.
- Experience working with engineering and product teams to turn requirements into practical solutions.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, security telemetry, threat intelligence or detection systems is a strong plus.
The salary displayed on this page represents the estimate for the role. Final compensation is discussed individually and depends on experience, skills, and the local market and might vary up or down.
What will you get from us
- Meaningful work with real-world impact - your work helps protect businesses and critical infrastructure from modern cyber threats.
- Flexible ways of working, including up to 30 days per year working abroad and paid sick leave from day one.
- A strong focus on well-being, with mental health support and comprehensive benefits.
- An open-minded environment that encourages experimentation with new technologies, including AI tools, to improve how we work.
- Continuous learning and a people-first culture that values trust and collaboration.
