Staff Engineer, NPI Process Engineer

Based in Suzhou, China, the Staff Engineer, NPI Process Engineer supports the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products. Working within the New Product Introduction team, you will collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams to improve product manufacturability and support an effective transition from product concept and prototyping to production.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

You will support new product introductions by developing scalable manufacturing processes, providing Design for Manufacturing input, and resolving process-related issues during prototyping and production preparation. Your contributions will help enable timely product launches, improve manufacturing efficiency and yield, and ensure that process documentation remains accurate and complete.

• Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to develop scalable manufacturing processes for new products.
• Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input to improve product manufacturability, production efficiency, quality, and process reliability.
• Support prototype builds, engineering trials, and pilot production activities by identifying process risks and coordinating practical solutions.
• Analyze manufacturing process issues using structured problem-solving methods and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance process capability, efficiency, yield, and production readiness.
• Create and maintain accurate process documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, process flow documents, and relevant manufacturing records.
• Support NPI project activities and help coordinate the transition of new products from concept and prototype stages into production.
• Communicate technical information clearly and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to support project objectives.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Five or more years of related experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, new product introduction, or a comparable technical field.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Experience supporting prototype builds, process development, production introduction, or manufacturing process improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze technical or manufacturing problems and contribute to practical, data-informed solutions.
• Ability to prepare and maintain clear manufacturing or engineering documentation.
• Ability to communicate technical information and collaborate effectively with colleagues from different functions and backgrounds.

You Will Excite Us If You Have

• Experience supporting NPI projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with structured problem-solving or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of process capability, yield improvement, risk assessment, or manufacturing validation.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, or supply chain.
• Familiarity with tools or methods such as DFM, PFMEA, process flow development, control plans, root cause analysis, or statistical process control.
• Experience supporting the transfer or scale-up of products and processes into volume production.
• The ability to communicate in English and Chinese in a technical working environment.
