About the role
The Accounting Associate supports day-to-day general accounting activities and helps maintain accurate and timely financial records. The role assists with transaction processing, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, and the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules. Working remotely as part of an accounting or finance team, the role follows established accounting procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and meets reporting deadlines. It works closely with team members and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and accounting-related issues.
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits, general ledger accounting, accruals, and reconciliations.
Experience preparing or supporting journal entries and account reconciliations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to follow established processes and independently complete assigned tasks.
Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Comfortable collaborating with colleagues in a remote work environment.
Ability to handle financial and company information confidentially.
Preferred qualifications
At least 1 year of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related experience preferred.
Experience using an accounting or ERP system is preferred.
Experience supporting U.S.-based accounting processes, shared services, outsourcing, or international clients is an advantage but not required.
