Staff Technical Instructor

About the role

Databricks Learning & Enablement trains customers, partners, and Databricks employees on
the Data Intelligence Platform. As a Staff Technical Instructor, you deliver our most strategic
technical training and set the instructional quality bar for a global community of instructors
and training partners. You partner with curriculum, operations, and account teams to
translate real-world delivery experience into better courses, stronger instructors, and
measurable learner outcomes.

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Global Delivery
Excellence. You are a thought partner to Senior Director+ stakeholders on training delivery.

What you will do

• Lead associate and professional-level instructor-led training across most of the Databricks catalog, virtual and in person, including tailored programs for strategic customers and large-scale events such as Data + AI Summit.
• Partner with curriculum teams on new course development and curriculum revamps so content reflects real delivery needs.
• Mentor Databricks Certified Instructors training partner instructors globally with timely, candid, actionable feedback.
• Use CSAT, NPS, and skill-progression data to identify and implement improvements in learner outcomes, instructor operations, tooling, and scheduling.
• Advise delivery leadership and account-facing teams on training plans, priorities, and emerging trends.
• Build AI-based tools to evolve training delivery readiness and in-class experiences.

What we look for

• Deep subject-matter expertise in at least one Databricks domain: Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, or Generative AI
• Most Databricks certifications completed, at both associate and professional levels
• Hands-on proficiency with the Databricks workspace, Databricks SQL, Lakeflow
• Declarative Pipelines, Lakeflow Jobs, Git folders, and Unity Catalog
• A track record of influencing training products, delivery processes, or tooling beyond your own classroom
• Experience mentoring and tailoring your coaching style to the individual
• Comfort presenting to and advising senior technical and business stakeholders
• Continuous study of industry trends and active investment in depth across additional technical domains
• Hands-on experience using AI to speed up course preparation, demo building, or delivery operations

Preferred qualifications

• ~8+ years in technical instruction, solutions architecture, data engineering, or data science, including ~4+ years delivering technical training to enterprise audiences
• Experience as a lead instructor or curriculum contributor for a technical course
• Experience designing or running train-the-trainer programs
• Experience running large-scale or event-based training programs
