The Software Engineer designs, implements, and maintains edge IoT solutions, develops full-stack applications and services, and turns manufacturing data into actionable insights. The role also supports reliable data pipelines and improves edge and application architectures.
Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining edge IoT solutions that capture, process, and securely transmit machine and sensor data from manufacturing environments
- Day-to-day tasks include developing fullstack applications and services, integrating edge devices (such as Raspberry Pi) with cloud and on-premise systems, and building APIs and user interfaces that transform raw data into actionable insights
- The engineer will collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand operational requirements, implement reliable data pipelines, and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues
- Responsibilities also include testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of both edge and application-level architectures to ensure scalability, resilience, and ease of deployment
Skills
- Experience with Industrial IoT systems, including edge device integration and industrial connectivity
- Strong Software Development and Programming skills, including work with modern languages and frameworks relevant to fullstack engineering
- Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi or similar single-board computers and embedded Linux environments
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data ingestion and application deployment
- Understanding of networking, security best practices, and data protocols commonly used in manufacturing and IoT (e.g., MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to work on-site in Nashua, NH, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage directly with manufacturing environments
- Experience in precision manufacturing, industrial automation, or data-driven production environments is a plus
