What you’ll achieve

As a Technical Apprentice, you will be learning how to do a specialized job through on-the-job training, perform duties to support the department that you are aligned to for a period of 12 months.

You will:

Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware (rack-mount, blade, and tower servers) under senior engineer guidance.
Support troubleshooting of hardware failures, component replacements, and system restores.
Assist with backup and disaster recovery operations, including regular backup testing and data restoration.
Help apply security patches to operating systems and server firmware; support firewall configuration and access controls (e.g., Active Directory).
Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, configurations, changes, and incident logs.

Essential Requirements

Hands-on experience and certifications can supplement or substitute for a degree.
Learn server hardware fundamentals: server architectures, RAID configurations, storage systems, power and cooling.
Gain familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Solve straightforward problems using established guidelines and senior staff direction.

Desirable Requirements

Work on limited-scope problems following standard procedures.
Receive regular reviews and detailed instruction on new assignments.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
