Senior Software Engineer - Java

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs following API-first design principles using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Developers, Product Managers, QA, DevOps, and Cloud Engineers in an Agile environment.
• Design secure APIs implementing OAuth2 OIDC, JWT, and industry-standard authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
• Integrate services through API Gateways and ensure secure, reliable communication across distributed systems.
• Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation to enable faster and more reliable software delivery.
• Plan, prioritise, and own end-to-end delivery of assigned projects and features.
• Continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and engineering best practices.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in designing, developing, and deploying large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring ecosystem components.
• Solid understanding of Microservices Architecture and Low-Level Design (LLD) principles.
• Experience building REST APIs and API-driven applications using OpenAPI/Swagger standards.
• Practical knowledge of API Gateway integration and API lifecycle management.
• Experience implementing OAuth2 OIDC, JWT, and API security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native application development.
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Design Patterns, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar.
• Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch and scalable search architectures is preferred.
• Experience building highly scalable, high-availability, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Exposure to Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and software quality best practices.
• Strong experience with Git-based version control and tools such as JIRA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerised deployments.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging tools.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with multi-region or global-scale applications.
