About Epoch AI Consulting
Epoch AI Consulting is a UK AI and data consultancy. We help private equity backed companies grow their value by using AI and data well. In practice that means three things: helping teams get more done per person, building new revenue streams, and helping leaders make better decisions with data they can trust. We do this through three practices:
• AI enablement: we go into a business, train their teams on AI and help them work faster.
• Data enablement: we get a company’s data organised, accurate and useful, so people can actually act on it.
• Agents, software engineering and data monetisation: we build AI agents and software on top of a client’s data, for internal use or as new products they can sell.
We’re a small, fast growing team spread across the UK and Europe. You’d be joining early, which means real responsibility and lots of variety.
About the client you’ll work with
You’ll be placed with one of our main clients, a UK hospitality technology company with 150+ people. They build the websites, booking engines and digital marketing tools that hotels use to win direct bookings, and they run digital marketing for many of those hotels too.
That means a lot of tracking. Every hotel website, booking flow and marketing campaign needs to be measured properly, and both the client and their hotel customers rely on that data to see what’s working and where the money is going. The business is investing in a modern data warehouse and wants its marketing and website tracking to be the best in the industry.
You’ll sit inside their data and analytics team, working day to day with their analysts, engineers and account managers.
The role
We’re hiring a Digital Analyst, based in Bulgaria and working remotely, to own the quality of our client’s website and marketing tracking. You’ll make sure the data in GA4 is right, fix it when it isn’t, and turn it into answers people can use.
What you’ll do
• Set up, maintain and fix tracking in Google Tag Manager across many hotel websites and booking flows, including ecommerce events and data layers.
• Audit GA4 properties, find gaps and errors in the data, and fix them before anyone makes a decision on bad numbers.
• Pick up tracking requests from account managers and internal teams, agree a
clear brief, and deliver on time.
• Help build a standard tracking setup that can be rolled out to new hotel clients quickly.
• Pull GA4 data to answer questions about traffic, conversion and campaign performance, and explain what you found in plain English.
• Work with developers when tracking needs code changes, and test that everything fires correctly after each release.
What we’re looking for
Three things matter most. The detail under each is what we’ll ask about in interview.
1. At least 2 years working with GA4 data
• You’ve worked in GA4 day to day, not just looked at the default reports.
• You understand events, parameters, conversions (key events), custom dimensions and how ecommerce tracking is structured.
• You can build explorations and funnels, and you know why GA4 numbers sometimes don’t match other systems (consent mode, sampling, attribution, filters).
• You can spot when data looks wrong and work out why.
• Bonus: you’ve used the GA4 BigQuery export or written SQL against it.
2. At least 2 years using Google Tag Manager
• You’ve built and maintained real GTM containers: tags, triggers, variables and folders kept tidy.
• You’re comfortable with data layers and can tell a developer exactly what you need pushed and when.
• You’ve set up GA4 ecommerce events end to end (view_item through to purchase).
• You debug with Preview mode, Tag Assistant and browser dev tools, and you know enough JavaScript to read and write simple custom code.
• You understand consent mode and cookie banners, and how they affect tracking under GDPR.
• Bonus: server side tagging, or tracking on third party booking engines and cross domain journeys.
3. Strong English and communication skills
• You’ll work with a UK team every day, so you need to be comfortable on calls, in Slack and in writing.
• You can explain a tracking problem to someone non technical without losing them.
• You push back on a vague request and ask the right questions to get a clear brief.
• You write things down: short notes on what you changed and why, so the next person isn’t guessing.
Nice to have
• Experience in hospitality, travel or ecommerce.
• Looker Studio or another BI tool.
• Google Ads and Meta conversion tracking.
• Experience with A/B testing tools.
• Some exposure to AI tools in your workflow, or an interest in learning.
Hours
Full time, with core hours overlapping the UK working day
Holiday: 21 days per year + public holidays
To apply, send your CV and a few lines about a tracking problem you found and fixed in GA4 or GTM.
We’ll invite shortlisted people to a short call, then a practical task based on a real tracking setup
