What You’ll Do
Design and build the backend systems and data models that power Fable's product
Own features end-to-end, including frontend work when needed
Collaborate with design and product to turn ideas into customer-ready experiences
Engage with early users, learn from feedback, and iterate quickly
Contribute to a strong engineering culture through code reviews, shared ownership, and mentorship
Ship production-grade code quickly and thoughtfully - balancing quality and speed
Who You Are
3-5 years of experience building and shipping fullstack or backend-heavy applications
Strong fluency with Django (or similar frameworks) and backend fundamentals - API design, data modeling, persistence, and hands-on Postgres experience (schema design, query performance)
Experience building frontend interfaces - ideally with React or Next.js
Familiar with TypeScript and GraphQL (or excited to grow into them)
Proven ability to take features from concept to production independently
Customer-obsessed - you care that your work solves real problems for real users
Thoughtful about system design and data integrity, and ask good product questions
Thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
