AI Engineer

Foxway is looking for an experienced AI Engineer to help turn AI ideas into secure, reliable solutions that create real value in everyday work.

AI is becoming an increasingly important part of how we develop our business and improve the way we work at Foxway. We are now looking for an AI Engineer who can take promising use cases beyond the prototype stage and turn them into production-ready applications and solutions.

Do you have a strong software engineering background combined with hands-on experience building AI-powered applications? Are you interested in solving real business problems with GenAI and LLM technologies rather than experimenting for experimentation's sake? And do you enjoy figuring out the technical challenges that stand between a good idea and a solution people can actually use?

About the Role: You will combine strong software engineering with hands-on AI expertise, working closely with technical and business stakeholders to understand their needs and bring solutions from idea to production. The focus is practical: building AI solutions that work in a real business environment and can be used and developed over time.

What you will do:

• Take AI use cases from prototype to production, building solutions that are secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable.

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered applications that support business processes and employee productivity.

• Build and maintainAPIs, connectors, data feeds, pipelines, RAG solutions, and integrations, solving the data and integration challenges needed to bring solutions into everyday use.

• Work with GenAI and LLM technologies, including prompting, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and orchestration.

• Ensure appropriatedata access, data quality, security, and cost efficiency, selecting and right-sizing models and technical approaches for each use case.

• Work closely with internal business partners to understand requirements, assess technical feasibility, and translate business needs into practical solutions.

• Continuously evaluate, improve, and iterate on AI solutions and technologies based on user needs, performance, and business value.

We believe you

• Have astrong software engineering background, with approximately 4+ years of professional software development experience and experience building solutions for real production use.

• Have hands-on experience developing AI-powered solutions, ideally including around2+ years of practical AI development experience.

• Have strong experience withPython, APIs, integrations, and application development.

• Have practical experience withGenAI and LLM-based applications, including prompting, RAG, and orchestration, as well as a good understanding of data engineering fundamentals.

• Understand how to build AI solutions withsecurity, scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency in mind.

• Are analytical, structured, pragmatic, and curious, with the ability to understand business needs, challenge requirements, and turn them into practical solutions.

• Are fluent inEnglish, both written and spoken. Estonian language skills are an advantage but not a requirement.

Experience with AWS Bedrock and Claude Code is considered an advantage.

Work Conditions

• The preferred location for this role is Tallinn or Tartu, where our Estonian offices are located.

• We are also open to candidates based elsewhere in Estonia who are willing to visit our Tallinn or Tartu offices from time to time.
