Job Introduction
FREQUENTIS Solutions & Services (FSS) as a member of the Austrian Group FREQUENTIS AG, is focused on software development, system engineering and delivery of safety-critical voice communication and information systems. Our solutions are developed and distributed in the following business segments: Air Traffic Management & Defence (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management), Public Safety (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services) and Public Transport & Maritime (railway and urban transport solutions, vessel traffic management).
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Solution Manager who will be responsible for complex technical solutions in projects and programmes, mainly in the domain of Defence (DEF). In this role you would take charge of the technical matters delivered to and commissioned by customers and thus be the first contact for this solution, to both, the customer as well as internal interfaces. Therefore, our IT Engineers have a broad IT background, are comfortable to work in an international environment and design solutions for our customers, comprising multiple software and hardware elements.
As a Technical Solution Manager, you should have minimum 5 years of experience in IT Project Management (as a System Engineer, Technical Solutions Manager, IT Project Manager, etc.).
Working Model, Travel & Project Environment
- Regular international travel as part of project delivery (typically around one week per month)
- Travel to customer sites across Europe, the Middle East and other international locations, depending on project requirements
- This is not a typical office-based role. The position combines technical solution design, customer interaction and on-site project activities
- We are looking for professionals who enjoy working in an international environment, are comfortable with regular travel as part of their role, and have a genuine interest in Defence projects combined with a flexible, hands-on approach.
- Some projects may require travel to countries or regions with elevated security requirements. All business trips are carefully assessed from a security perspective and take place only in locations where normal civil and business activities are ongoing.
Key Tasks
- Responsibility for technical solution on the assigned project
- First contact to the customer and internal departments in all technical project issues
- Planning and steering technical resources, including defining work packages and monitoring schedules and progress
- Designing and implementing technical solutions with technical and budgetary feasibility in mind
- Designing, managing and documenting customer’s requirements
- Responsible for system integrations and testing as well as commissioning the technical solutions together with customers
- Final alignment and documentation of the technical requirements with the customer
- Preparing technical specifications for internal interfaces (R&D, IT Solution Provider, Purchasing, Assembly, etc.)
- Technical collaboration with external suppliers (sub suppliers)
- Steering the design process in projects involving development and reviewing design documents
- Defining and preparing R&D development requirements and coordinating the deliverables Identifying and implementing change requests
- Lifecycle management of project-specific COTS products
- Responsible for configuration management (documents as well as systems and licenses)
- Coordinating safety and security
- Coordinating all internal and external project stakeholders contributing to the technical solution, e.g. documentation, testing department, development, etc.
- Analysing technical project risks and opportunities, preparing contingency plans
- Responsible for technical acceptance of external and internal deliveries
- Reporting to and coordinating with Project Manager and Line Manager
Key Qualifications
- Domain know-how
- Strong knowledge and understanding of telecommunications (SIP, RTP)
- Strong knowledge in networks technologies including at least: switching L2/L3, routing
- Skilled in designing IT system architectures, deployment tools, software defined functions and scripting
- Understanding of virtualization platforms
- Administration skills on Linux and Windows, especially in respect of networking, deployment and configuration
Employee requirements
Minimum achieved education
- I. level university degree
Language skills
- English - Advanced (C1) and Slovak - Intermediate (B1)
Experience in the position/in the field
- IT Project Management (5 Years)

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong awareness of diverse work cultures, supporting effective collaboration with our international clients
- Ability to follow corporate processes and standards

- Willingness to travel to HQ in Vienna when needed
- Availability to travel at the European and international level
