Engineering Manager (Central east, up to $13,000)

Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Design and develop IC sockets and connector products utilizing machining, stamping, and injection molding components.
• Lead product development from concept design, prototype development, design iteration, through to mass production release.
• Conduct DFM, DFA, and DFMEA at both component and assembly levels.
• Perform tolerance analysis and apply GD&T for high-precision mechanical components.

• Develop 3D models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform mechanical simulations (FEA) using SolidWorks to validate product performance.
• Conduct thermal simulations for both air and liquid cooling solutions.
• Perform high-frequency electromagnetic simulations using Ansys HFSS.

• Collaborate on mechanical, thermal, and electrical co-design for integrated product development.
• Design solutions for high-power, high-current, and high-speed applications.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed engineering specifications.

• Engage in technical discussions with customers to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with toolmakers, machining vendors, molding suppliers, and internal manufacturing teams.
• Support supplier engagement to ensure manufacturability and technical alignment.

• Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations.
• Implement corrective actions and design improvements to enhance product quality and reliability.

• Manage engineering development projects from initiation to completion.
• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure project success.
• Lead engineering teams or projects as a technical lead or engineering manager.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant experience in IC socket or connector design and development
• Experienced in management experience.
• Experience in high-precision mechanical design
• Proven experience managing product development from concept to mass production

• SolidWorks (3D modeling & 2D drawings)
• Mechanical simulation (FEA) using SolidWorks
• Thermal simulation for cooling solutions
• High-frequency electromagnetic simulation using Ansys HFSS

• Machining, stamping, and injection molding processes
• DFM / DFA / DFMEA methodologies
• Tolerance analysis and GD&T
• Mechanical, thermal, and electrical integration

• Strong technical communication with customers and suppliers
• Ability to translate customer requirements into engineering specifications
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills

• Experience in project management
• Experience leading engineering teams or cross-functional projects
