Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer, Quantum AI. Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate mechanical system requirements and develop suitable engineering solutions.

• Perform mechanical design and analysis using internal software tools.

• Coordinate with vendors to facilitate the fabrication and procurement of mechanical components.

• Carry out machining modifications and basic component fabrication;

• Support the design and development of neutral-atom quantum apparatus and associated mechanical systems.

• Collaborate directly with research scientists to refine designs and support implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design or mechanical design analysis;

• At least 2 years of experience developing mechanical system solutions.

• At least 2 years of experience working in a mechanical engineering technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred:

• Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

• Experience with optomechanical systems, ultrahigh vacuum systems, or high-stability scientific equipment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with considerable uncertainty.

• Ability to incorporate evolving information quickly and adjust design processes and strategies accordingly.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Annual base salary: $126,000 to $180,000.

• Bonus: 15% target bonus.

• Equity compensation, subject to applicable agreements and approval.
