2027 Summer Internship - Marketing and PR, Harper Celebrate Publishing (Nashville, TN Hybrid)

Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Marketing and PR Intern to join our team. This role is perfect for someone eager to apply their skills in both marketing and public relations efforts. Responsibilities

1. Marketing Support

• Assist in ideating, designing and creating social media content for book promotions, author events, retail partners and more across the following platforms:
  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • YouTube
• Update weekly blogs and craft bi-monthly newsletters for major publishing brand.
• Write and edit compelling content, including book hooks, ad copy, scripts, etc.
• Assist with office mailings, including Goodreads giveaways, ARC (Advance Reader Copy) mailings, and other promotional efforts.
• Attend monthly research meetings to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.
• Analyze social media engagement to help provide actionable insights to inform marketing and PR strategies.

2. Public Relations Support

• Collaborate with our Senior Manager of Publicity to draft PR Updates for title roster.
• Help craft press kits to support PR campaigns and book launches.
• Assist with researching, building and maintaining media lists for book launches and authors.
• Facilitate book review mailings to media outlets.

3. Collaboration and Organization

• Work closely with the marketing and PR teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.
• Stay organized and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.
• Candidates must be available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from June 7 to August 12, 2027. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days at our Nashville headquarters, while Mondays and Thursdays are remote workdays. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.

• Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Canva design experience is a PLUS!
• Basic knowledge of social media and digital marketing
• Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written
• Team player willing to collaborate
• Solid organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable insights
• A passion for books and storytelling!
