HP is looking for a highly analytical and results-oriented Business Manager to drive HP strategic direction and optimize significant investments with our PS Strategic Alliances partners. This pivotal role combines broad strategic oversight with specific responsibilities for managing critical funding programs related to our global CPU, GPU, and OS purchases. You will be instrumental in shaping our company's future by transforming raw data into actionable insights and regularly presenting these insights and strategic recommendations at the executive level.
You will oversee comprehensive data, conduct rigorous analysis, and thoroughly test hypotheses to inform our most critical choice points. You will work with cross-functional teams to facilitate meaningful projects and programs, ensuring operational goals are met, and our strategy remains competitive and adaptable in a rapidly changing business landscape.
This role demands a unique blend of strategic foresight, analytical prowess, financial acumen, and strong relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Business optimization: Formulate recommendations to optimize business and financial performance.
Strategic leadership: Lead the identification of research and analytical needs, structure strategic approaches, and develop project strategies and tactics. Provide thought leadership and contributes to expanding the knowledge base.
Project management: Oversee large, cross-functional teams, manage communications, and ensure timely project delivery. Develop project guidelines, contingency plans, objectives, and deliverables.
Executive collaboration: Advise business executives on strategy formulation, risk management, and growth opportunities. Foster cross-functional collaboration to align strategy and execution.
Specifics of the role:
Develop comprehensive financial models to project annual budgets for Alliance partner spend and funding (rebates, MDF, NRE).
Create and utilize dynamic analytical models to support negotiations for annual funding frameworks, driving operational implementation of resulting frameworks with category and finance teams.
Lead cross-functional teams across Alliances, Finance, and Category to identify and address gaps against quarterly savings targets, ensuring one version of the truth.
Manage quarterly Alliances metrics, influencing executive-level targets and communicating progress to stakeholders.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of Alliances analytics, including processes and big data tools, for key metrics such as shipments, spend, rebates, and market share, facilitating critical data-driven conversations and decisions with internal and external executives.
Lead projects focused on reporting, analytics, and process improvement to optimize strategic decision-making regarding partner utilization, cost efficiencies, and gross margin.
Knowledge and Skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and business acumen; experienced in developing financial models, leading analysis, and explaining options and implications.
Highly motivated self-starter capable of working under pressure, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines, operating independently with minimal guidance, and exercising extreme ownership for projects and results.
Excellent project and program management skills, including project structuring, timing, and managing multiple work streams independently.
Demonstrated executive presence and executive communication skills.
Exceptional influencing and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to navigate matrix environments and forge strong partnerships across organizations (internal and external to HP) to achieve optimal results in complex programs.
Comfortable operating effectively at both tactical and strategic levels.
High proficiency with standard Office tools. Excellent PC skills in Excel (including but not limited to lookups, complex/compound equations, logical equations, macros, pivot tables, and the ability to understand/build/edit complex financial models).
Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or PowerBI highly preferred.
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
10+ years of work experience, preferably in strategic management, strategic planning and implementation, consulting, market research, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
