We are looking for a Junior Video Editor who shares our passion for visual storytelling and is ready to grow their editing skills in a creative and collaborative environment.
About the Role
As a Junior Video Editor, you will work with our creative team to transform raw footage into engaging, polished video content. You will support the editing process from organising footage and selecting the best takes to refining sequences, incorporating feedback and preparing final exports.
We are looking for a thoughtful editor with a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, strong organisational skills and a genuine willingness to learn. You do not need to know everything already, but you should be curious, receptive to feedback and eager to improve your craft.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into engaging video content that aligns with project briefs, creative direction and brand requirements.
- Use Adobe Premiere Pro to assemble footage, trim sequences, arrange clips and create smooth, coherent edits.
- Organise video files, audio recordings, project folders and supporting assets to maintain efficient workflows.
- Review footage carefully and select the strongest shots, moments and sequences to support each story.
- Incorporate music, dialogue, sound effects, transitions, titles and basic graphics where appropriate.
- Make revisions based on feedback from senior editors, producers and other team members.
- Maintain consistency in pacing, visual flow, audio levels and overall video quality.
- Prepare video exports in the correct formats, resolutions and aspect ratios for different platforms and project requirements.
- Support the team in preparing content for social media, digital platforms, promotional campaigns and other creative projects.
- Follow file-naming conventions, maintain organised project files and help manage media backups.
- Collaborate with the creative team to meet project deadlines and maintain high production standards.
- Stay curious about emerging editing techniques, tools and trends, and apply new skills to improve your work.
Qualifications and Requirements
We welcome applicants who demonstrate creativity, commitment and a strong interest in developing their video editing skills.
Candidates should have:
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
- A strong interest in video editing, filmmaking and visual storytelling.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage digital files and project assets efficiently.
- Attention to detail, particularly when reviewing footage, refining edits and preparing final exports.
- A willingness to learn new techniques, accept constructive feedback and improve continuously.
- The ability to follow creative briefs and translate instructions into effective edits.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a creative team.
- A responsible approach to managing time, meeting deadlines and handling project materials.
A degree, diploma or certificate in Film Production, Media Studies, Video Editing, Multimedia or a related field may be an advantage. However, a strong portfolio demonstrating your skills and creative potential is welcome.
Key Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Creative thinking: Approach footage thoughtfully and identify opportunities to tell compelling stories.
- Technical aptitude: Apply the fundamentals of video editing and develop proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Organisation: Keep footage, project files and digital assets structured and easy to access.
- Attention to detail: Review edits carefully to maintain quality, consistency and accuracy.
- Adaptability: Respond positively to feedback and adjust edits to meet project requirements.
- Teamwork: Collaborate respectfully with editors, producers and other creative professionals.
- Time management: Prioritise tasks and deliver work within agreed timelines.
