Introduction

Our client in Benoni (East Rand) is seeking a reliable, detail-driven Bookkeeper with a stable employment history (no job hoppers) to manage the day-to-day financial administration of a busy engineering and manufacturing workshop.

The ideal candidate will have solid bookkeeping experience, strong reconciliation ability, and the maturity to work independently in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Bookkeeping Function - Manage daily bookkeeping tasks within a manufacturing/workshop environment

• Cashbook & Journals - Process cashbook entries, journals, and maintain accurate financial records

• Reconciliations - Perform bank, supplier, customer, and control account reconciliations

• Debtors & Creditors - Manage accounts payable and receivable

• Invoicing - Issue invoices for completed workshop jobs and ensure accurate billing

• Job Costing - Assist with costing for machine repairs and workshop jobs

• Quotations Support - Support the team with costing and quotation preparation

• Financial Reporting - Assist with monthly financial reports and summaries

• Workshop Administration - Handle job cards, costing sheets, and financial documentation

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant

• Strong reconciliation and bookkeeping ability

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering workshop environment (advantageous)

• Proficient in accounting software and Excel

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organisational and administrative skills

• Stable employment history (no job hoppers)

• Professional, reliable, and able to work independently
