Financial Accountant

Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the finance function across reporting, compliance, controls, and operational finance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity, supporting management reporting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage creditor and debtor processes, including reconciliations and reporting
• Prepare monthly journals, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Oversee treasury activities, cash management, and cashbook processes
• Support payroll accounting and statutory compliance requirements
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, and reporting standards
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements
• Support process improvements and finance team development

Job Experience and Skills Required

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles preferred
• Professional designation advantageous

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience within a Financial Accounting environment
• Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar commercial environment advantageous
• Strong exposure to month-end reporting, reconciliations, and management accounts
• Experience with creditors, debtors, payroll, and statutory compliance

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP systems experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage high-volume transactions accurately
• Exposure to supervising or mentoring junior finance staff advantageous
