Financial Controller

This is where you come in.

As Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of the group reporting cycle, working across several entities and dealing with a substantial volume of consolidation activity. You’ll also be responsible for drafting financial statements, working through intercompany balances and ensuring the underlying records support the results.

The business runs on MS Dynamics, and this is a full-time, office-based position in Modderfontein.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the group consolidation process across multiple entities
• Prepare consolidation journals, including intercompany eliminations
• Draft annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Review monthly results and identify unusual movements or variances
• Oversee intercompany reconciliations and resolve differences
• Coordinate month-end and year-end reporting requirements
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules
• Assist with external audit preparation and queries
• Extract and analyse information from MS Dynamics
• Provide technical accounting input to management and the wider finance team

• BCom Accounting / Finance degree
• CIMA qualified or currently studying towards CIMA
• 5-10 years’ relevant experience
• Strong group consolidation experience
• Proven experience in drafting financial statements
• Exposure to multi-entity accounting
• Mining, mining equipment, engineering or a related technical industry would be advantageous
• Strong technical accounting and reporting capability
• MS Dynamics experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of information
• Comfortable working full-time in the office
