Financial Manager

Job Description:

• Managing the full finance function for the hospital
• Overseeing debtors, creditors, and working capital management
• Driving cash flow management, liquidity planning, and financial forecasting
• Preparing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
• Monitoring hospital revenue streams, profitability, and departmental performance
• Managing supplier payments and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation
• Ensuring VAT, PAYE, payroll, and statutory compliance requirements are met
• Supporting annual audits, financial statements, and regulatory reporting
• Tracking debtor ageing, collections, and key financial performance indicators
• Driving process improvements, financial controls, and operational efficiencies
• Partnering with hospital management to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Providing financial insights to support business growth and service excellence

Skills & Experience:

• 5 to 10 years of relevant financial management experience
• Previous experience within a hospital, healthcare, medical services, or healthcare group environment is highly advantageous
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
• Experience managing debtors, creditors, and working capital in a high-volume environment
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting capabilities
• Experience with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence operational decision-making
• Ability to engage confidently with executives, operational management, medical practitioners, and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to improve processes, controls, and financial performance
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• CA(SA), PA(SA), AGA(SA), CIMA
