General Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and management accounts.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
• Manage general ledger accounting, journals, accruals, provisions and financial transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Monitor and maintain financial controls and accounting processes.
• Analyse financial information and provide meaningful insights to management.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Support internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Newly qualified CA(SA) with completed articles.
• Strong audit exposure to manufacturing, engineering, logistics, supply chain or related industrial environments is highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Exposure to working with complex business operations and financial controls.
• A genuine desire to transition from audit into a commercially focused industry environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exposure to ERP/accounting systems will be advantageous.
