IT Operations Manager

This role is responsible for ensuring operational stability, security, service delivery, and governance across the technology landscape. You will lead an established team while maintaining the technical depth required to support complex infrastructure, networking, and security initiatives when needed.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in improving operational maturity, driving continuous improvement, and embedding governance, risk, and compliance practices throughout IT operations. This position is ideal for a technology leader who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee enterprise infrastructure, networking, and operational technology environments.
• Manage network architecture, connectivity, segmentation, and security controls.
• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Oversee cloud platforms and drive infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
• Manage internal IT service delivery, support processes, and service-level performance.
• Administer identity and access management solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
• Maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Drive governance, risk management, compliance, and security initiatives.
• Support development and DevOps teams through stable and well-governed environments.
• Lead vendor relationships, contract management, budgeting, and cost optimisation.
• Establish operational reporting, performance metrics, and continuous improvement programmes.

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications will be advantageous.
• 6 to 10 years of experience within IT infrastructure, networking, cloud, or operations environments.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience leading technical teams.
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale technology environments.
• Strong experience in IT service delivery and operational management.
• Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Experience managing vendors, service providers, and operational budgets.
• Enterprise networking and network architecture
• Firewall administration and network security.
• Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Endpoint management and workplace technology.
• Incident management and root cause analysis.
• Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• IT governance, risk, and compliance.
• Infrastructure monitoring and performance management.
• Operational reporting and service metrics.
• Change management processes.
