A leading firm in financial analytics is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Graduate or Junior Data Scientist to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. This is a great opportunity to apply your skills to real-world financial challenges like fraud detection, client churn, and portfolio optimization.

What You'll Do:

  • Collect, clean, and transform financial data
  • Assist with building and refining machine learning models
  • Support anomaly detection and automation tools
  • Create impactful dashboards and reports in Power BI
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Analysts, and business teams
  • Identify ways to improve data workflows and insights

What You'll Bring:

  • A Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 0-2 years' experience (interns welcome!)
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, matplotlib, and scikit-learn)
  • Basic SQL and familiarity with Power BI and Excel
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills
