This remote opportunity offers the chance to contribute to an intralogistics system being deployed across more than 27 locations throughout Europe. You will play an important role in developing and validating software that supports complex logistics operations. The position combines software engineering with AI-assisted, agent-based development approaches. You will work with existing codebases, assess implementations, and help ensure that solutions are reliable and fit for purpose. The role also provides opportunities to visit European operational sites and validate your implementations in real-world environments. It is well suited to a technically strong student or graduate who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and modern software development.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of an intralogistics system being rolled out across multiple European locations.
- Use AI-assisted and agent-based software development approaches to support efficient implementation and engineering workflows.
- Read, understand, evaluate, and verify existing code and implementations, particularly within complex or unfamiliar codebases.
- Work with technologies including Go, Java, React, and Oracle Database as part of the development environment.
- Assess implementations against functional and technical requirements and help identify potential issues or improvements.
- Develop an understanding of how software solutions interact with real-world intralogistics and logistics processes.
- Where applicable, travel to European operational sites to review and validate implemented solutions in their actual environment.
- Completed or advanced studies at ETH Zurich in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and critically assess code written by others, including unfamiliar codebases.
- Familiarity with Go, Java, React, and Oracle Database, with the ability to work with these technologies in a practical development context.
- Practical experience with, or a strong interest in, agent-based software development, AI-assisted engineering, and code verification.
- Basic understanding of intralogistics and logistics processes and how software supports operational workflows.
- Structured, independent, and reliable working style, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in both German and English and confidence communicating in a technical, collaborative environment.
- Competitive compensation starting at CHF 35+ per hour.
- Remote working arrangement with flexibility around the working location.
- Part-time engagement of at least 50%.
- Minimum commitment of one year, providing continuity and meaningful project ownership.
