This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Commercial Master Data Management based in the United States.
This is a senior, hands-on data leadership role responsible for shaping commercial master data capabilities across a complex enterprise environment.
You will own key commercial data domains and establish governance, stewardship, quality, and lifecycle practices that enable trusted business decisions.
The role spans customer, provider, payer, patient, product, consent, and organizational data, with a strong focus on creating reliable master records.
You will work closely with Commercial Operations, Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Compliance, and Technology teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
The position combines data architecture, MDM engineering, analytics enablement, platform management, and operational improvement.
You will also coordinate vendors and distributed delivery teams while directly implementing data quality, integration, and automation improvements.

Accountabilities
Serve as the hands-on business owner and architect for commercial master data domains, including HCP, HCO, payer, customer, patient, product, consent, and organizational hierarchies.
Establish and maintain enterprise master data standards, business rules, hierarchies, ownership models, stewardship processes, and data lifecycle practices.
Build and operate the Commercial Data Stewardship Program, including onboarding, enrichment, validation, maintenance, and retirement processes.
Personally develop and optimize match rules, merge rules, survivorship logic, deduplication processes, affiliation management, and hierarchy maintenance to create trusted “golden records.”
Establish commercial data quality standards, KPIs, monitoring processes, scorecards, and reporting to provide visibility into data health.
Conduct root-cause analysis and directly implement corrective actions for recurring data quality issues, rather than simply assigning remediation activities.
Translate business requirements into working technical solutions, including datasets, validations, outputs, data dictionaries, SOPs, process maps, and operational documentation.
Manage day-to-day operations, enhancements, releases, upgrades, testing, defect resolution, and production support for commercial data platforms and related applications.
Deliver and validate commercial master data provisioning across CRM, customer master, account planning, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.
Partner with Data Engineering and Enterprise Architecture teams to build and maintain integrations between CRM, customer master, marketing, analytics, and enterprise data warehouse environments.
Write SQL and support semantic layers, reporting datasets, business intelligence solutions, automated validation rules, matching logic, and data hygiene processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and integrations to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data delivery.
Support commercial product launches and transformation initiatives by preparing data, validating technology readiness, and ensuring required data is available.
Conduct impact assessments and cross-functional reviews for system changes, integrations, and new data sources.
Coordinate offshore development teams, managed service providers, and technology vendors while remaining hands-on in testing, validation, issue diagnosis, deployment, and production support.
Monitor vendor performance against service levels and facilitate operational reviews, root-cause analysis, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with Analytics and AI teams to improve data quality and enable advanced reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
Identify operational weaknesses and personally implement process, technology, and data improvements that increase efficiency and trust.
Build strong relationships across a matrixed organization and communicate complex data concepts clearly to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 6+ years of experience.
8+ years of pharmaceutical commercial operations or related experience involving the architecture and hands-on development of enterprise data management platforms.
Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and managing Master Data Management solutions in complex commercial environments.
Proven ability to personally develop and tune match rules, merge rules, and survivorship logic across capability, consent, payer, patient, HCP, and HCO data domains.
Strong understanding of commercial data mastering, identity resolution, hierarchy and relationship management, consent management, governance, data quality, and enterprise data integration.
Hands-on experience with MDM platforms and commercial data architectures or comparable technologies.
Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies such as AWS Redshift, EC2, Databricks, Snowflake, or Reltio.
Experience working with MedPro and OneKey data is required; experience with Ultmarc data is a plus.
Familiarity with commercial data providers such as SP/SD, IQVIA, Symphony Health, Komodo, Definitive Healthcare, Veeva Open Data, or similar sources is preferred.
Experience supporting commercial, medical, or patient data ecosystems within pharmaceutical or healthcare environments is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen, with the ability to manage and provision large volumes of data while maintaining performance, accuracy, and trust.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, storytelling, and project management skills.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into comprehensive, practical, and scalable data solutions.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization and build strong relationships across business and technology functions.
Strong collaboration skills and experience leading operational or analytics initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.

Willingness to travel approximately 10-15%, primarily for planning sessions, workshops, and major launch initiatives.
Annual base salary range of $150,200-$200,200, with actual compensation determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.
